2 Arrested in Slaying of Lancaster Man
A Lancaster man was killed in a shooting here early Friday morning. Two men were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
James Edward Pinedo, 29, was shot to death about 1 a.m. Friday in the 45100 block of Beech Avenue in Lancaster, authorities said. He died at the scene.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Rich Erickson said it is unknown why Pinedo was shot.
Suspects James Robert Carson III and Jeremy Martinez, both of Lancaster, apparently had a verbal confrontation with Pinedo, who was with an unidentified female. Authorities said Carson and Martinez left the area in a mini-pickup, then returned and shot Pinedo.
Carson and Martinez were later arrested. They are being held without bail, Erickson said.
