Share

The second Thousand Oaks bank in two days was held up Saturday, when an apparently unarmed man robbed the Bank of America branch on East Avenida de los Arboles, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The man entered the bank about 10:45 a.m., handed a teller a note demanding money, but did not show a weapon, investigators said. The man left the bank on foot, carrying an unknown amount of cash, they said.

Sheriff’s detectives and a sheriff’s air unit searched the surrounding area, but found no suspects.

“The guy got clean away,” Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Boyd said.

The robber was identified as a Latino in his mid-20s with dark brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap and dark pants, authorities said.

On Friday, a man reportedly took about $2,700 from the First State Bank of the Oaks on North Moorpark Road. No arrest has been made, authorities said.
