ALISO VIEJO : Police Arrest Suspect in Bank Robbery

A Tustin man suspected of robbing a California Federal Bank branch here was arrested by police as he returned home, authorities said Monday.

Mark Cimino, 28, was arrested at his home in the 14300 block of Red Hill Avenue in Tustin and taken to Orange County Jail on suspicion of robbery, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Cimino’s bail was set at $60,000, with arraignment scheduled for todayat Municipal Court in Laguna Niguel, Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson said.

About 2:30 p.m. Friday, a man walked up to a woman teller in the bank on La Paz Road, told her he had a gun, then demanded money, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and he fled.

Witnesses caught a license plate number on the getaway vehicle, which investigators traced to the suspect’s address, Olson said.

Tustin police arrested the suspect as he returned home later in the afternoon, Olson said. Arresting officers did not find a weapon, he added.

There were no injuries reported in the bank robbery.
