THOUSAND OAKS : Award Offered in ‘Pedal-By’ Shooting

Share

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a “pedal-by” shooting that occurred in the Thousand Oaks area last month.

An 18- to 20-year-old man asked three men in the 3000 block of Los Robles Road to buy him beer June 26, police said. When the men declined, the suspect left, but returned on a light-colored mountain bike and fired five shots at them from a small-caliber handgun.

No one was injured in the incident.

The shooter is described as about 5-foot-6, with a medium build, brown hair with a crew cut, and a “Fu Manchu”-type beard. He has an oval face with a dark complexion and spoke in a high-pitched voice, police said.
