Elizabeth Banitem, 30, of Palmdale was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released. Gilbert Rojas, 30, of Lancaster was uninjured in the crash.

Roth was southbound at 70 to 75 m.p.h. when her car drifted across the divider and collided with Banitem’s vehicle about 8:45 p.m., Hastain said.

Banitem’s car then struck Rojas’ vehicle, which skidded and collided with Enbody’s car, he said.

All three lanes of northbound traffic were closed as CHP officers investigated the accident. Traffic was backed up more than 20 miles to Santiago Road, according to the CHP.
