Bishop Driscoll’s Mother Dies at 83
Bernardine Jarding Driscoll, mother of Auxiliary Bishop of Orange Michael P. Driscoll, died Monday after a heart attack, church officials said Tuesday. She was 83.
Mrs. Driscoll, of Buena Park, had been stricken about a week ago.
In addition to Bishop Driscoll, she is survived by a daughter, Kay, and another son, Thomas. She was a parishioner of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Buena Park.
A requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Driscoll at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange. She will be buried at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to Catholic Charities of Orange County.
