The San Diego Padres waived infielder Kurt Stillwell for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release, leaving only two millionaires on their roster.

Stillwell is earning $1.75 million.

Outfielder Tony Gwynn ($3.95 million) and pitcher Andy Benes ($2.05 million) are the highest-priced Padres remaining on a team that has reduced its payroll to $11.92 million.
