A teen-age boy and a man died late Tuesday after being gunned down in Long Beach, and a boy was hospitalized following a drive-by shooting, police reported Wednesday.
Joseph Loia, 15, and Avese Letele, 22, died from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said a man walked up to them in the 1200 block of Raymond Avenue about 10 p.m. and opened fire. Police said the killings appear to be gang-related.
Earlier, a 13-year-old was shot while sitting on a fence in the 500 block of New York Street. He was hit once in the buttocks when six shots were fired from a car about 2 p.m. The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was in stable condition in the pediatric intensive care unit Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.
