Wayne Simmons, the Green Bay Packers’ top draft pick and a projected starter at outside linebacker, will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee today and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Simmons injured the knee in practice Monday.

A Memphis, Tenn., group announced plans for a $50-million expansion of the city’s football stadium and the beginning of a campaign to sell premium seating. Both projects are part of efforts to bring an NFL team to Memphis.

Investor groups in Memphis, Baltimore, St. Louis and Charlotte, N.C., are expected to bid for one of two expansion teams the NFL is expected to approve late this year.
