JEWISH FICTION: “The Care and Feeding of the Jewish Fiction Writer” will be discussed by six professionals Wednesday night at Young Israel of Northridge in a fund-raising event co-sponsored by Aish HaTorah Institute.

A spokesman said the event will offer ideas “on how being Jewish has affected or not affected the writers” along with practical information on having works published or produced. Moderating the two-hour seminar, which will begin at 8 p.m. at 17511 Devonshire St., is Harry Medved, managing editor of Screen Actor magazine.

Speaking will be mystery writers Rochelle Majer Krich, an Anthony Award winner for “Where’s Mommy Now?” and Serita Stevens, author of “Red Sea, Dead Sea,” “Bagels for Tea” and “Unholy Alliance.” Also, Stan Berkowitz, producer of television’s “Superboy”; screenwriter Larry Block, former staff writer for Eddie Murphy Productions, and Marvin Silbermitz, a former shoe salesman who became a comedy writer for NBC’s Jay Leno.

The cost for the seminar is $10. For information, call (818) 831-0275.

The program shows the rites, conducted in Arabic and English, and includes guest speakers addressing topics in English on current Melkite issues, said director-producer Joseph Haiek.
