Young Joins the Ranks of Sports’ Lovable Losers
As much as Anthony Young should be pitied for his record losing streak, there will come a time when he will look back and realize that because of it he will be remembered more than most of his successful counterparts.
He is destined to join the ranks of other famous and unforgettable losers. Names that conjure up memories for many of us: Fred Merkle, 1908 Giants; Wrong Way Riegels, 1929 Rose Bowl; Mickey Owen, 1941 Dodgers; Mary Decker, 1984 Olympics, and Chris (Time Out) Webber--to name a few that come to mind.
