Mochizuki-Karwasky Wins 35-and-Over Title

HAVERFORD, Pa. — Tina Mochizuki-Karwasky of Glendale defeated Barbara Jordan of Los Altos, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2, Saturday to win the 35-and-over title in the U.S. Women’s Grass Court Tennis Championships.
Mochizuki-Karwasky is men’s and women’s coach at Cal State Los Angeles. Jordan was the 1979 Australian Open champion.
Mochizuki-Karwasky also won the doubles title with Dee Williams-Horne of Los Angeles. They defeated Helen Edwards of Washington, D.C., and Karen O’Sullivan of Naperville, Ill., 6-3, 0-6, 7-5.
