WEEKEND TV : Football, Baseball and ‘League’ Too

Between exhibition football, tennis, baseball and sports-related movies, sports fans won’t have much trouble finding something to watch this weekend.
The Rams play the Phoenix Cardinals tonight at 7:30 on KCBS-TV Channel 2 and the Raiders play the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at 1 p.m. on KCAL-TV Channel 9.
In baseball, the Angels are in Chicago to play the American League’s Western Division-leading White Sox today at 4 p.m. on KTLA Channel 5 and WGN and 11:30 a.m. Sunday on KTLA.
And in tennis, Prime Ticket will carry the semifinals of the Los Angeles Tournament at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. today and the final match Sunday at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, Geena Davis and Tom Hanks star in “A League of Their Own,” tonight at 8 on HBO.
For boxing enthusiasts, the classic film “Requiem for a Heavyweight” airs tonight at 11:05 on KCET Channel 28.
The Clinton budget vote and the conference on TV violence will be popular topics of discussion on weekend’s public affairs shows.
