Girl Killed After Horse Throws Her
A 16-year-old Malibu girl was killed Sunday after being thrown from a horse while taking riding lessons at a Malibu stable, authorities said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokeswoman Diane Hecht said the accident occurred about 11:30 a.m., when the horse threw the teen-ager and then fell on her. The victim, whose identity was withheld pending notification of relatives, was pronounced dead about a half an hour later at Westlake Community Hospital in Westlake Village, she said.
