Cunningham Leads Eagles Past the Jets
Randall Cunningham’s two touchdown passes led the Philadelphia Eagles past the New York Jets, 24-13, in an NFL exhibition Friday night.
Cunningham completed nine of 13 for 181 yards in the first half. His 42-yard pass play to Victor Bailey gave the Eagles a 14-6 lead, then Cunningham found Herschel Walker, who made a spinning catch between two defenders for an 18-yard touchdown play and a 21-6 halftime lead.
“I told him to just stick with his route and I’d get the ball to him,” Cunningham said of the pass to Bailey on a flea-flicker. “Before he even had time to think about making a move, the ball was in his hands.”
