Third baseman Mike Pagliarulo was acquired by the Baltimore Orioles from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for a player to be determined. Pagliarulo, 33, was batting .292 in 83 games for the Twins with three homers and 23 runs batted in.

Bob Ojeda, seriously injured in the March 22 boating accident that killed Cleveland Indian teammates Steve Olin and Tim Crews, is scheduled to make his first start of the season tonight. Ojeda, 35, suffered severe head cuts in the accident and was placed on the disabled list April 2. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder April 27. . . . Free-lance writer Michael Higgins has filed a report with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Dept. against outfielder Kevin Reimer for allegedly striking him in the back with his forearm in the Brewers’ clubhouse after Friday night’s game. Higgins believed Reimer hit him because he thought Higgins was involved in a controversial scorer’s decision.
