Booth Wins in Arkansas; Berry Falls Into Tie for Second
Coto de Caza’s Kellee Booth completed a wire-to-wire victory in the girls’ division of the Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic, shooting par 72 in final round Tuesday at Little Rock, Ark.
Booth, who has won seven of the eight junior tournaments she has entered this year, finished with a three-over total of 291, two strokes ahead of runner-up Keridwen Cornelius of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Alicia Allison of Santa Ana was third at 296.
Yorba Linda’s Chris Berry, who entered the final round tied for the lead with Michael Henderson of Raleigh, N.C., faltered, shooting 80 and dropping into a tie for second with Henderson. Torrance’s Ted Oh, who played in the U.S. Open this year, shot 70 to win the boys’ division by one stroke.

Trevor Kronemann, who helped lead the Newport Beach Dukes to the World TeamTennis finals, earned $27,021.43 this season to finish fourth in total prize money among all players. Players earned a percentage of the $720,000 prize money pool based on their season-long individual performances in the singles and doubles events as well as their teams’ overall standings.
Kronemann and his partners, Zina Garrison-Jackson, Manon Bollegraf and Katrina Adams, compiled the best winning percentage of all mixed doubles teams. The Dukes won the Western Division and finished with a league-best 13-1 record, but lost to the Wichita Advantage in the finals.
Dukes’ Coach Greg Patton led all coaches in prize money with $9,500. The coaches’ compensation is based on the team’s finish in the regular and post seasons.
Martina Navratilova of the Atlanta Thunder led all players in prize money for the third consecutive year with $45,250. Sacramento’s Patty Fendick was second with $31,743.42 and Connors was third with $29,250. Adams won $20,851.08 to finish seventh in total prize money. Rikard Bergh of the Dukes was 11th in earnings with $16,957.05.

Tustin-based SoCal Water Polo had 11 players named All-American after the National Junior Olympic Championships last weekend in Cupertino.
David Hay and Brent Palluck were first-team selections and Vatche Shirikjian and Lenny Malo were second-team selections from the team that finished second in the 17-and-under division.
SoCal won the 15-and-under and 13-and-under divisions. Brian Brown, Ian Ching and Jeff Pflueger were first-team picks at 15-and-under; Robby Arroyo, Matt Flesher and Colin Shaughnessy were first team and Jordan Hewko was second team at 13-and-under.

First-year high school Aliso Niguel will offer physicals for all sports at 6 p.m. Friday at Marian Bergeson Elementary School in Laguna Niguel, Room P-34. The school’s first practices begin Monday, like most other county schools.
Cross-country has a midnight run on the first day of practice, beginning at the high school at 12:01 a.m. They meet again at 8 a.m.
The freshman football team meets at 8 a.m. at Sheep Hills Park, and the junior varsity meets at 8 a.m. at Argonaut Park.
Girls’ tennis meets from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Laguna Niguel Racquet Club, and the girls’ volleyball program meets at 2 p.m. at the Crown Valley YMCA.
