Echo Park : Mural Fest to Honor Youths
Grass-roots community organizations are putting together an “Echo Park Mural Fest ‘93” on Friday to unify the neighborhood and to honor 15 local youths for restoring a mural at the entrance to Elysian Park.
The potluck event, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the west entrance to Elysian Park at Morton Avenue and Academy Road, will be attended by Los Angeles City Council members Jackie Goldberg and Mike Hernandez and Assemblyman Richard Polanco (D-Los Angeles), said Susan Borden, publicist for the Echo Park Improvement Assn. Entertainment will be provided by the local Latino comedy group Culture Clash.
