Former UC Berkeley student Andrew Martinez, a.k.a. the Naked Guy, lived up to his nickname Friday, becoming the first person to be arrested under the city’s new no-nudes law.

Martinez, whose stripped-down style inspired City Council members to draft the anti-nudity ordinance, was arrested after he strolled on the UC Berkeley campus au naturel , said Lt. William Cooper of the campus police.

Martinez, who was arrested in the main campus plaza, called for help as he was being taken away by police, saying, “I’m a victim! I’m a victim!”

He was expected to be transferred to the Berkeley City Jail, where bail arrangements could be made.

Martinez was expelled from UC Berkeley earlier this year after school officials rewrote the campus dress code to ban nudity.
