Bill Musgrave, playing in place of the injured Steve Young and Steve Bono, threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Chargers, 30-14, Saturday night at San Francisco.

The 49ers may start the season without Young, whose broken thumb might not heal in time for the season-opener Sunday against Pittsburgh. Bono is expected to be sidelined for five weeks because of a separated shoulder.

Charger quarterback Stan Humphries was hit by linebacker Martin Harrison and the preliminary diagnosis was a bruised right shoulder.

Seattle’s Dave McCloughan returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown and backup quarterback Stan Gelbaugh led two second-half scoring drives as the Seahawks posted a 20-10 victory over the Oilers at Houston.
