Running back Bobby Humphrey signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, ending six months of offers, counteroffers, threats and ultimatums.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The Miami Herald reported Tuesday it was worth $625,000, including incentives.

Dollars were not the Dolphins’ only concern with Humphrey, who since last season has been charged with cocaine possession in Columbus, Ga., and was shot in the leg in Alabaster, Ala.

The one-day vacation ended for more than 100 NFL veterans who were called back to their teams.

Ottis Anderson, however, must make other plans.

The 36-year-old running back, eighth on the all-time rushing list, was not reclaimed after being cut by the New York Giants, for whom he was the 1991 Super Bowl most valuable player.

The Green Bay Packers welcomed offensive tackle Ken Ruettgers to practice Tuesday, his first after a 45-day holdout. Ruettgers said he would try to be ready for Sunday’s season opener against the Rams at Milwaukee County Stadium.

The San Diego Chargers claimed wide receiver Mark Seay on waivers from the San Francisco 49ers. Seay spent last season on the 49ers’ practice squad after being signed as a free agent out of Cal State Long Beach.
