Quite A ‘Bold’ Welcome

Jeff Trachta and Bobbie Eakes (Thorne and Macy Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful”) had an unexpected encounter with thousands of fans of their show recently while making a public appearance in Denmark.

“Bobbie and I were giving an outdoor concert at Bakken, this 450-year-old park right in the heart of Copenhagen,” says Trachta. “Neither of us knew what to expect, but we certainly didn’t expect anything like we got. We were both shocked when some 40,000 people showed up. They were coming in by the busload--it was unbelievable!

“I felt like Bruce Springsteen, or like I was one of the Beatles,” says the actor with a laugh. “There was a big fence around the stage and 17 guards were hired to control the crowd,” which went wild in spite of the security.

“Fans were throwing stuffed animals and all these flowers on stage,” Trachta says. “There were so many flowers that we actually wound up sending them to a local hospital after the show. A few girls even threw themselves on stage. The whole thing was pretty overwhelming.

“It was a wonderful experience, and I enjoyed doing it,” says Trachta. “But it was kind of nice coming back to my little residential life in Burbank.”

There is no doubt that “As the World Turns” fans will welcome Scott Bryce, who will resurrect his former role of Craig Montgomery, back into the fold with open arms. What we know about the story line is that Scott will be keeping a secret from his friends and family when he returns to Oakdale.

The popular actor played Craig from 1982 to 1987, when he left to pursue other acting roles. He returned in 1988 for a year and made a two-week guest appearance on the show last May. Bryce was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1986-87 for his work on “World.”

Between his daytime stints, Bryce was a regular on the prime-time series “2000 Malibu Road” and “The Facts of Life.” He had recurring roles on “L.A. Law” and “Murphy Brown,” and has appeared in several TV movies.

Sydney Penny will be joining the cast of “All My Children” in the role of Julia Santos, sister to neurologist Maria Santos, played by Eva LaRue. Penny is slated to make her first appearance on Tuesday, and her first scenes will be with Christopher Lawford as Charlie Brent. Penny was last seen on daytime as B.J. Walker on “Santa Barbara.”
