‘Great Books’ on Learning Channel
In conjunction with International Literacy Day, cable’s Learning Channel will present three hours of programming called “Great Books” Wednesday, beginning at 5 p.m.
Each hour will focus on a specific book--Thomas Malory’s “Morte D’Arthur,” Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” and Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species”--explaining not only why the works were so important but also the historical context in which they were written and the impact they’ve had since publication.
