A new exhibit titled “Old Glory! America’s Flag from America’s People,” featuring 20 renderings of the American flag in a variety of styles, opens today at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

The exhibit includes painted, woven and carved versions of Old Glory and will run through Oct. 8.

Library Director Ralph C. Bledsoe said the items are all gifts to the Reagans and are part of the library’s permanent collection.

“This is an opportunity for us to show off some very colorful items from our selection,” Bledsoe said.

Among the pieces are the Peter Max painting “Flag with a Heart,” a carved wooden rendering of the flag mounted on a denim background, and a painting of the flag that measures 45 by 50 inches and was given to Reagan on the 100th birthday of the Statue of Liberty.

The exhibit is open to all visitors at no extra charge.
