Two teen-agers were in critical condition Thursday night after their van collided with another vehicle making a left turn, police said.

Robert Baily, 19, and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl, both of Huntington Beach, were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, Sgt. J.B. Hume said. Both victims suffered serious internal injuries in the 12:25 p.m. accident, Hume said.

The two were northbound on Magnolia Street when their 1970 Volkswagen van collided with a 1982 Cadillac, which had been southbound on the same street and was trying to turn left onto Yorktown Avenue, police said.

“Both vehicles had the green light and crashed into each other in the northbound lane of Magnolia,” Hume said.

The driver of the Cadillac, a 60-year-old woman, declined treatment, he said.

No one was cited in the accident, which was still being investigated, police said. It happened one mile southeast of another accident Wednesday afternoon, when a man in a three-car collision died after his truck flipped and ejected him. That accident also was under investigation.
