2 Ex-High School Players Sue Coach, Wife Who Solicited Them for Sex
Two former Hemet High School football players have sued a former coach and his wife who admitted soliciting them for sex.
The separate suits, filed by Marc C. Searl, 18, and Adrian T. Page, 19, seek unspecified damages and accuse Randy and Kelly Brown of assault, battery, conspiracy and infliction of emotional distress.
Randy Brown, 39, and Kelly Brown, 32, pleaded guilty May 28 to two charges of conspiracy to commit oral copulation with a minor and one charge of committing oral copulation with a minor. They were given suspended sentences and placed on five years probation. Brown lost his coaching job. The couple has moved from the Hemet area.
The suit was filed last week in Riverside Superior Court.
Page’s suit contends that the Browns conspired from December, 1990, to February, 1993, to maintain an affair between the player and Kelly Brown that began when he was 17.
Searl, also 17 at the time, refused his coach’s solicitation to have sex with Kelly Brown in 1992, according to court documents.
The players said Brown told them a botched vasectomy made him unable to have sex with his wife.
