COLLEGE ROUNDUP : First Victory Keeps Eluding Titan Women in Volleyball
Nikki Wallace had 11 kills as the University of San Diego swept winless Cal State Fullerton in nonconference women’s volleyball Tuesday in Fullerton.
Torril Purvis and Amy Boyer had three aces each for San Diego, which won, 15-11, 15-1, 15-5. The Toreros are 10-1.
Jennifer Lipski had 11 kills for Cal State Fullerton (0-8). The Titans open play in the Big West Conference with a 7 p.m. match at home Saturday against UC Santa Barbara.
In nonconference men’s soccer:
Cal State Northridge 3, UC Irvine 1--Keith West led Cal State Northridge (3-2) with two goals as it defeated host UC Irvine. The lone goal for the Anteaters was scored by Michael Succi.
In nonconference women’s soccer:
California Baptist 7, Southern California College 0--Aurda Nelson scored three goals for visiting California Baptist (4-0-1). Southern California College, in its first year of the program, is 0-6 and has yet to score a goal.
CS San Bernardino 4, CS Fullerton 0--Wendy Gutierrez led Cal State San Bernardino (2-1) with a goal and an assist as it shutout host Cal State Fullerton.
