SANTA PAULA : Skeleton in Creek Bed Is Male Caucasian

Share

Skeletal remains found in a stream bed near Santa Paula this week are believed to be that of a Caucasian male between the ages of 20 and 30, coroner’s officials said Friday.

The skeleton, discovered by a ranch foreman Monday night, apparently washed down a creek to the spot where it was discovered, authorities said. The man had been dead for several months or more.

The skull displayed no evidence of dental work, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Kelly Fadler, who is in charge of the investigation.

Officials have still not determined a cause of death, but it is being investigated as a homicide.

Fadler said he has been flooded with calls from other jurisdictions with missing persons cases. But so far, he said, there has not been enough information to make a connection.

Once a forensic anthropologist analyzes the bones, Fadler said he plans to send a Teletype throughout the state with the information.
