FAIRPLEX : Pedroza Seriously Injured
Martin Pedroza, the third-leading rider in Fairplex Park thoroughbred racing history, was reported in serious but stable condition Sunday night as the result of an injury he suffered when his mount, El Toreo, fell on the first turn of the 10th race.
Pedroza was taken to Pomona Valley Community Hospital, where he was being treated for a lacerated liver.
El Toreo, the horse with whom Laffit Pincay recently scored his 8,000th victory, completed the course and suffered no apparent injury.
