A brush fire Monday blackened 61 acres southeast of Santa Paula and took nearly 200 firefighters about three hours to extinguish.
No one was injured and no structures were damaged in the blaze on the Sench Ranch, off Coyote Canyon Road. The fire was spotted just after 1 p.m. and was under control by 3:45 p.m., according to dispatch supervisor Vicki Crabtree of the Ventura County Fire Department.
Fifteen engine companies, a bulldozer and two helicopters were used to put out the blaze. The Fire Department was assisted by crews from the California Department of Forestry.
The cause of the fire was under investigation Monday.
