BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJORS : Brett Will Return in Some Capacity
George Brett said he will almost certainly stay with the Kansas City Royals as a player or executive in 1994.
Brett, 40, met with Royal General Manager Herk Robinson in Oakland, where the team began a four-game series.
“They did offer me a contract to play. And they offered me a contract if I didn’t play,” said Brett, who is hitting .267 with 15 home runs and 65 runs batted in. “Herk’s supposed to call us on Wednesday and hopefully I’ll know what I’m going to do by Friday.”
