COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : USC : Boselli, McGinest Among Semifinalists
Junior offensive tackle Tony Boselli and senior defensive end Willie McGinest of USC were among 12 players named as semifinalists for the Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s top lineman.
Other semifinalists: Sam Adams, Texas A&M; Lou Benfatti, Penn State; Derrick Brooks, Florida State; Shante Carver, Arizona State; Tre’ Johnson, Temple; Kevin Mitchell, Syracuse; Jim Pyne, Virginia Tech; Aaron Taylor, Notre Dame; Rob Waldrop, Arizona, and Ron Woolfork, Colorado.
The winner will be announced Dec. 2 in Houston.

Senior defensive tackle Terry McDaniels has made up an academic deficiency and is eligible to play Saturday night against Washington State in the Coliseum. He was a starter in 1990 and ‘91, but was a backup defensive guard and nose guard last season.

Anthony McClanahan, Washington State’s All-American candidate at linebacker, is the son of Brent McClanahan, onetime Minnesota Viking running back. He’s also a cousin of Bob McClanahan, a 1980-81 USC fullback.
