CS Northridge Returns to Face Sonoma State

After three road losses, Division I-AA Cal State Northridge (0-3) will face Division II Sonoma State (0-2) in its home opener at North Campus Stadium tonight at 7.
After the Matadors’ latest loss, 23-9 to Northern Arizona, Coach Bob Burt scrapped the run-and-shoot offense for a two-back set. For the first time this season, Northridge will start the same quarterback for the second consecutive game.
“That gives me more confidence,” said quarterback J.J. O’Laughlin, “but more than anything I’m feeling frustrated by our inability to move the ball. The defense is holding up their side of the bargain, now the offense has to hold up its end.”
