VENTURA : 1 Man Shot, 1 Hit With Bat in Fight
One man was shot in the abdomen and another man was hit in the head with a baseball bat when a shouting match in front of a Ventura convenience store turned violent, police said Saturday.
The two men, both from Ventura, were hospitalized after the fight in front of the Lucky 7 store at 10337 Telephone Road late Friday, police said.
The cause of the fight is not known, and the two men responsible for the attack are still at large. Police described the incident as an attempted murder.
The victims, Edward Zizumbo and Jose Sandoval, both 20, were listed in stable condition at Ventura County Medical Center, hospital officials said.
