Palmdale No Match for Los Alamitos in Nonleague Game

Mike Good threw six touchdown passes to spark unbeaten Los Alamitos High to a 48-26 nonleague victory over winless Palmdale on Thursday night at Veterans Stadium.

Good completed 18 of 37 passes for 323 yards, and had three scoring passes of 24 yards and others of 87, 65 and 17 yards.

Palmdale (0-4) scored four touchdowns, the first touchdowns Los Alamitos has surrendered.

Falcon quarterback Rocque Sandoval completed 18 of 34 for 261 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions. Palmdale halfback Anthony Coleman caught five passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, including an 87-yard scoring play. He also rushed four times for 42 yards and one touchdown.

Los Alamitos (4-0) built a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter on four touchdown passes by Good. Palmdale’s Ted Mondragon caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Sandoval to put the Falcons on the board. Coleman caught a four-yard scoring pass later in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 28-12, but Palmdale could get no closer.

Griffin wide receiver Brad Melsby caught 10 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
