Gagliano Signs With the Falcons as Insurance at Quarterback Spot
Bob Gagliano, a journeyman quarterback from Glendale College and Hoover High with experience in the run-and-shoot offense, was signed Thursday as a free agent by the Atlanta Falcons.
The move came after Chris Miller was placed on injured reserve following knee surgery.
Gagliano has played six seasons in the NFL and two in the defunct USFL. In eight pro seasons, he has completed 455 of 833 passes for 6,104 yards and 32 touchdowns.
The former Utah State quarterback has played with the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers. He was in the run and shoot at Detroit when current Falcon offensive coordinator June Jones was an assistant on the Lions’ staff.
Gagliano becomes the third quarterback, behind Bobby Hebert and Billy Joe Tolliver.
