Women in Comedy

Regarding Chuck Crisafulli’s article on the boys’ club mentality in television (“Women a Comedy Force? No Joke,” Oct. 2): While several women have broken through in comedy clubs and, to a degree, in sitcoms, the last great bastion for joke-tellers is still almost completely male-dominated.

Until such sketch shows as “In Living Color” and “Saturday Night Live” and the slew of late-night comedy programs include the names of females equal to the percentage of distaff viewers, there will be nothing to brag about.
