BOSS TALK: Danny Federici, who played organ in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band for nearly 25 years, is planning to write a book about the glory days, and longtime Boss watchers are already wondering whether the dirt will fly.

Federici himself is circumspect at this stage.

“This is an honest book to tell of my experiences,” he told Pop Eye. Of how it will cover any lingering bitterness about Springsteen’s 1990 firing of the band, he says only, “That’ll all come in the book.”

Charles Cross, editor of the Springsteen-oriented magazine Backstreets, says he doubts the book will be full of scandal. He guesses that it may be more revelatory of Federici himself, who had an alcohol problem during much of his time with Springsteen, but has been sober for nine years.

Federici, who is currently interviewing potential co-writers for the book, now lives in the L.A. area and has lately been concentrating on building a career in scoring music for TV series and movies.
