Faith Baptist 50, Hesperia Christian 44--Judd Granzow rushed for 130 yards, passed for 219 and had a hand in five touchdowns and four conversions to lead the Contenders (4-1) at Hesperia Christian.
The Contenders trailed, 28-20, at halftime, but scored 22 consecutive points in the third quarter to take a 42-28 lead. Granzow, who rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two, hooked up with Dawayne Lucas (five catches, 135 yards) for scoring passes of 27 and 70 yards.
A touchdown by Hesperia Christian (3-2) in the final two minutes cut the Contenders’ lead to 50-44.
