Kennedy 3, La Quinta 1--Kristy Hensel had seven kills and Claire Lee had 10 assists as Kennedy (8-1, 7-0) won, 1-15, 15-0, 15-5, 15-11, to take sole possession of first place.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 3, Trabuco Hills 1--Amy Steele had 32 kills and Misty Thompson added five aces and 38 assists for Laguna Hills (7-2, 3-0) in the match against Trabuco Hills (2-5, 1-2).

In the Sunset League:

Fountain Valley 3, Santa Ana--Kari Altice had 10 kills and seven aces for Fountain Valley (7-2, 6-1), which won, 15-0, 15-3, 15-6. Host Santa Ana is 0-7, 0-7.

In Century League girls’ tennis:

El Modena 10, Canyon 8--Sisters Brandi and Holli Freudenberg swept their singles sets, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, and, 7-5, 6-1, 6-0, to lead fifth-ranked El Modena (10-0, 5-0) to victory.

In the Empire League:

Esperanza 12, Katella 6--Brooke Atwell and Jil Llewellyn swept their doubles matches, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, for Esperanza, which was 9-0 in doubles overall.

In the Sea View League:

Woodbridge 14, Santa Margarita 4--Allison Powojski led a singles sweep as she won her sets, 6-0, 6-3, 6-0, to lead sixth-ranked Woodbridge (11-3, 6-2) to victory.

In the Sunset League:

Edison 11, Rosary 7--Tommie Demaree and Michelle Turner swept their doubles sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, as Edison (8-0 in league) defeated Rosary (9-5, 6-2) for the second time in league.
