ROUNDUP : Harvard-Westlake Wins as Duff Gets Five Goals

Jimmy Duff scored five goals to lead Harvard-Westlake High past Loyola, 23-9, in a Mission League water polo match Tuesday at Westlake.

Harvard-Westlake (16-1, 7-0 in league matches), ranked fourth in Division IV, held an 8-5 lead at halftime but blew out Loyola (11-12, 5-3) with 15 goals in the second half.

There were 23 ejection fouls in the match. Loyola’s top two scorers were ejected from the match in the third period.

MEN’S SOCCER

Moorpark 4, Mission 0--Jason Lonas and Todd MaLesich each had a goal and an assist to lead the Raiders (5-1-3, 3-0) to a Western State Conference victory at Moorpark.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Moorpark 9, Oxnard 2--Heather Houston scored three goals and Ginger Callaway, Summer Salvatera and Staci Blough each had two for the host Raiders in a Western State Conference match.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Occidental d. Cal Lutheran, 15-10, 15-8, 8-15, 16-14--The Regals (13-9, 4-3) lost a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Occidental despite Tracy Little’s 22 kills and Tara Thomas’ 43 assists.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Agoura d. Royal, 15-7, 15-5, 15-12--Charger outside hitter Blair Thomas had 12 kills and setter Tammy Barrus had 35 assists in a Marmonte League match at Agoura (14-1, 9-0).

Saugus d. Hart, 15-7, 15-11, 16-14--Lindsay Estes had nine kills and Amy Gillis added eight for the Centurions (6-1, 4-1) in a Foothill League match.

Harvard-Westlake d. Notre Dame, 15-9, 15-5, 15-10--Hillary Gross had seven kills in a Mission League match for the Wolverines (10-0, 8-0), ranked first in Division II.

L.A. Baptist d. Western Christian, 15-4, 15-3, 15-5--Shannon Gault had seven aces and Darcie Frazier had seven kills for the Knights (6-4, 3-1) in an Alpha League match at Western Christian.

Van Nuys d. Canoga Park, 15-3, 15-7, 15-10--Jenna Panatier had 14 kills and Connie Chae had 29 assists to lead the Wolves (9-0, 3-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at Canoga Park.

Sylmar d. Poly, 15-5, 17-15, 15-10--Mayra Ariza had 15 kills for the Spartans (5-4, 3-3) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at Poly (6-2, 4-2).

North Hollywood d. Grant 8-15, 15-11, 15-11, 15-5--Claudia Soto had six service aces and Susie Barragan added five to lead the Huskies to their first victory in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at North Hollywood (1-8, 1-5).
