CSUN Center Might Miss Game Saturday

Greg Sorensen, Cal State Northridge’s starting center, is listed as questionable for the Matadors’ American West Conference football game Saturday at UC Davis.
Sorensen, a 6-foot-1, 281-pound senior, suffered a strained muscle above his left ankle with six minutes left in last Saturday night’s game against Cal State Sacramento. Trevor Watters, a 6-foot, 307-pound junior, is Sorensen’s backup.
Volleyball
Ventura High will play host to its third girls’ volleyball alumni match Saturday at 7 p.m. Information: 805-650-5988.
Miscellany
The Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles has awarded three Valley-area youth organizations $29,000 in grants to help operate their programs.
KYDS (Keeping Youth Doing Something), serving more than 200 youths in Canoga Park and Reseda, has been awarded $15,000. Other organizations receiving grants are the El Rio Youth Sports Club ($10,000) in Oxnard and the Simi Valley Athletic Assn. ($4,000).
