Countywide : State Senator to Hold Community Forum

Share

State Sen. Rob Hurtt (R-Garden Grove) will hold a community forum tonight in Stanton to discuss crime, illegal immigration, taxes and the business climate.

The forum is for people in Hurtt’s district, which includes Anaheim, Buena Park, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster and portions of La Palma and Orange.

Hurtt sent 28,000 questionnaires in June to people in his district and chose the four topics for discussion based on the 3,000 responses, said Kim Barone, his chief of staff.

Lt. Larry Woessner of the Westminster Police Department gang unit will introduce the discussion of crime. Bob Wilson from the county administrative office will talk about how immigration affects the county’s resources. Bob Bruchmann from the Taxpayers’ Action Network will talk about taxes.

About half of the forum will be question-and-answer sessions, Barone said. Hurtt will introduce the discussion of the business climate, Barone said. Hurtt, who owns the Container Supply Co. in Garden Grove, was elected in March to fill the seat left vacant by Rep. Ed Royce (R-Fullerton).

The forum will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stanton Civic Center, 7800 Katella Ave.
