President’s Visit to Culver City

Share

The Oct. 5 visit by President Clinton to our humble town of Culver City to speak to senior citizens about the health care plan was indeed quite an honor. It was a privilege to be able to host the leader or our country and to witness how smoothly everything went at Carlson Park.

The White House staff had everything perfectly organized and the Culver City employees were outstanding in their efforts to make the park and streets lovely. Although the newspaper stories report that Carlson Park was chosen for various reasons, we at the Culver City Senior Center will always believe that the location was chosen because of the national award-winning Senior Center in the city. The center provides assistance to seniors and the disabled in Culver City and adjacent areas in the fields of recreation, education, social service, transportation, nutrition and disability services. Those who are 50 and older are welcome to take advantage of the activities offered at the center. We are proud that President Clinton gave our town national visibility.
