Corona del Mar’s Kim Coleman has orally committed to play volleyball at UCLA. Coleman, a 6-foot senior outside hitter/setter, chose UCLA over Colorado, Colorado State, Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara.

“They’re the best team in the best conference, I really want to go there,” Coleman said in a recent interview.

As a junior, Coleman shared Southern Section Division I Co-Player of the Year honors with Laguna Beach’s Rachel Wacholder. Coleman was the Sea View League’s co-player of the year with teammate Jennifer Stroffe, was a Times’ All-County first-team selection and was named All-American by Volleyball Monthly.
