PREPS

The State Council of the California Interscholastic Federation will meet this weekend in San Diego. One of the items on the agenda is a report from the strategic planning committee regarding the makeup of the various sections.

San Gabriel Valley schools, which are part of the huge Southern Section, will probably be unaffected by any of the proposed changes, which could include the formation of an Orange County and Inland Empire Section.

Ken Gunn, principal at Walnut High, is considered a candidate for Southern Section commissioner, a job that was left vacant when Stan Thomas was forced to resign earlier this month. Dean Crowley has been serving as interim commissioner.
