Santa Barbara 22, Ventura 21--Alfredo Moreno kicked a 42-yard field goal with seven seconds left to lift host Santa Barbara.
A holding penalty nullified a 35-yard Santa Barbara touchdown pass 12 seconds earlier but a pass-interference call against Ventura helped set up the winning score.
Ventura’s DeWayne Mathis ran 14 times for 109 yards and scored on runs of 52 and two yards. Erik Olsen added another touchdown for the Cougars (6-2, 4-1).
