In the third quarter, Brethren Christian extended its lead by capitalizing on two Lancer errors.

On its first possession of the second half, Brethren Christian was forced to punt. Carlos Glade tried to fall on the ball, but it bounced away, and Warrior Paul Stites scrambled for the ball and finally tucked it under his stomach. Brethren Christian took over on the two, and Davis dived into the end zone on the next play.

On third and two after the ensuing kickoff, Lancer quarterback Joe Juliano fumbled an exchange, and Theo Dennis recovered on the Orange Lutheran 46. Davis then threw an 11-yard pass to Darin Dobler, who lateraled to Mark Stump, who ran 35 yards for the touchdown.

Stump was averaging more than eight yards per carry at the half. The junior running back finished with 123 yards--equaling Orange Lutheran’s yardage--in 16 carries. Washington added 76 yards in 13 carries.

Running back David Hwang led the Lancers with 51 yards in 16 carries. He also caught two passes from Juliano, for 15 yards. Teammate Tom Pannell caught Juliano’s other two passes, for 26 yards.
