Starting play Sunday, Rocket Ismail was listed third on the depth chart as a kickoff returner behind Greg Robinson and Alexander Wright.

At Notre Dame, Ismail returned five kickoffs for touchdowns, one short of the NCAA record held by USC’s Anthony Davis.

Playing in the Grey Cup championship game in his first season with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, Ismail returned a kickoff 87 yards against the Calgary Stampeders to clinch a victory.

Ismail has been brought along slowly with the Raiders because he didn’t sign until shortly before the start of the regular season. On Sunday, Ismail returned three kickoffs for a total of 83 yards, including one for 44 yards.

Wright and Robinson combined for two kickoffs for a total of 19 yards.

The Raiders got some good news Monday. Neither quarterback Jeff Hostetler (bruised shoulder) nor defensive lineman Nolan Harrison (elbow) have any lasting damage from Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

Hostetler was hurt by a blindside sack by Leslie O’Neal. But by Monday, Hostetler was lifting weights.

Harrison had some swelling Monday, but had a full range of motion and is not expected to sit out.
