71-Year-Old Killed in Auto Collision
A 71-year-old man was killed Tuesday when his car was hit by a second vehicle while turning into a business in the 2300 block of North Tustin Avenue, Santa Ana police said.
The victim, a Santa Ana man whom police have not identified, was not wearing a seat belt when his 1988 Plymouth Reliant was struck by the second car, driven by an 18-year-old man, also from Santa Ana.
Both drivers were taken by paramedics to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where the older man was pronounced dead of head and chest injuries, according to Sgt. Don Robertson. The younger driver, who was wearing a seat belt, complained of chest and neck pains. He was not cited.
